This image is inspired by one Vancouver iconic building, the Canada Place. Located in the heart of downtown, Canada Place is a multi-use, world-class facility, home to a cruise ship terminal, a convention center, a hotel, and more.
Its tent-like design was envisioned as part of the World’s Fair Expo 86, where an old cargo pier was transformed into a structure intended to rival the Opera House in Sydney, Australia. The shape of Canada place has been compared to a sailing ship.
This mandala show a tiny corner of the convention centre, with the word PLACE surrounded by some of the building sails. When this image is mirrored, the resulting composition resembles a fish staring at you.
Print is mounted on wooden panel and covered with resin for extra shine and protection.
